ENSSP YR 3-4 Change 4 Life Festival

On Thursday 25th November, ENSSP hosted a Year 3-4 School Games ENGAGE Change 4 Life Festival at East Norfolk Sixth Form College. This event was for non-competitive and targeted pupils who would benefit from being more physically active, particularly those whose physical activity levels have been most negatively impacted by COVID-19. Participants/ teams displayed the School Games Values and fair play and self belief values were celebrated.

We had 4 schools attend in the end as a couple of schools who entered could no longer make it due to unforseen circumstances.

The schools were:

Homefield

Martham

Edward Worlledge

Woodlands

The schools rotated around 8 stations - having a go at a variety of multisklls activities, aiming to acheive their personal best:

Naughts & Crosses

Messi Football Shot

Boccia

Throwing different objects at a target

Tennis racket in and out of cones whilst balancing then juggling

Twist and Turn in aline/ over and under in a line

Crossing the swamp

Shuttles with cones

Overall, it was great event with lots of children in engaging in different activities to achieve their personal best and to try something new. The children got more confident as the day went on and enjoyed the activities. This event provided a great opportunity for the pupils to come represent their school in a sports event for the first time. As a result of today, we encourage schools to provide the children the opportunity to develop and improve their skills further by putting on clubs after school, lunchtime and before school as well as encourage the girls to join a local community club in a sport. Also Schools will be sent Change 4 Life resources to encourage the children to maintain a healthy active lifestyle.
