ENSSP Year 3-5 School Games ENGAGE B2022 ENSSP Festival (Come & Try Day). This event is non-competitive and targets pupils who would benefit from being more physically active, particularly those whose physical activity levels have been most negatively impacted by COVID-19. Participants/ teams displaying School Games Values and fair play will celebrated. This events alongside the B2022 Commonwealth games values (Humanity, Equity and Destiny) aims to improve their confidence and have a positive experience to encourage the pupils to engage into sport/physical activity in P.E, after school clubs and local community clubs. =

Entry is open to all schools within the East Norfolk SSP only via booking on the SSP website. Only 1 booking per school. (If spaces do not get fully filled, SGO will email to schools booked on if they would like to enter a 2nd team). First come first served basis.

Information will be sent to the teams booked on closer to the time/ after deadline. Make sure you book on before the deadline.

After your school has booked on, we will send you a Commonwealth Games Country for your school to represent at the day of the event - we ask you to create the countries national flag so on arrival we will get each school to walk around the track to the team base as an opening ceronmy before the event briefing. Alongside this we give your school the task or either bringing an object or a pupil dresed as the countries/school's team mascot and research a few facts about the country and write them on the back of the countries team flag. - Also have your school wearing the countries team colours whilst participating. - The best team effort will receive a prize!

This event is to promote the Commonwealth Games at Birmingham 2022 (united by Birmingham 2022) and will consist of 4 athletics activities (vortex howler throw, standing long jump, sprint and relay run) also 8 Tri-golf activities. Schools will be split into groups and rotate around the activities. A squad of 10 (5 boys and 5 girls) will be split to participate against the same gender in the come and try activities, which will be non scoring. This engaged themed event which aims to give young pupils a first opportunity to take part in a fun, off site sports festival. The festival will focus on pupils doing their personal best, having fun, whilst working with their peers. We hope that the festival will help inspire pupils to develop the habit of choosing to take part in PE/school sport opportunities when they arise in the future. As well as encourage them to live a healthy active lifestyle.

Competition Ends 3:30pm


The competition will be held outside so please ensure your team are appropriately dressed for the weather conditions and have an appropriate drink to keep hydrated and food for energy. Please keep up to date on our social media (Twitter - @EastNorfolkSSP) or via our website for any disruptions.

Risk Assessment

By booking to take part in this event you agree that you have read and understand the contents of the event risk assessment and the safeguarding and responsibilities form/ Event guide. Please note that schools are responsible for the transport, arrival and departure of their pupils. Schools should bring their own first aid kit and are responsible for the first aid of their students.

Photography/ videos

We use a variety of digital and social media to promote all our events including our SSP website and Twitter profiles. By booking onto this event, you are agreeing to our photo policy. It is the responsibility of the participating school to ensure that they have asked parents/guardian for permission for photos and videos of all participants to be taken by SSP staff or official event photographers. Please ensure you make the SSP staff aware of any children without photo/ video consent prior to the start of the event. These children will be asked to wear a yellow armband throughout the event which will indicate that no photographs/ videos should be taken of them.


Schools are reminded to follow guidelines in the SSP Event Guide handbook and their schools safeguarding policy.


Unfortunately, NO spectators are able to attend this event.
