Description

ENSSP Year 3/4/5/6 School Games COMPETE Cross Country event. This event is for pupils who are competitive in nature and enjoy performing and competing against others. Players/ teams displaying School Games Values and fair play will celebrated alongside the results.

Entry is open to all schools within the East Norfolk SSP only via booking on the SSP website. Only 1 booking per school. (If spaces do not get fully filled, SGO will email to schools booked on if they would like to enter a 2nd team). First come first served basis.

Information will be sent to the teams booked on closer to the time/ after deadline. Make sure you book on before the deadline.

Booking onto this event means you agree to the terms and conditions.

This is an event for girls and boys and will consist of 5 boys and 5 girls from each year groups 3/4/5/6. (40pupils - 20 boys and 20 girls).

There will be separate races for year 3/4/5/6 Boys and Girls. We will start with the year 3 boys race and then the year 3 girls race, and so on. Races will begin as soon as the last race has finished and therefore no race times will be published. Approximate race distances are below.

The cross country course is a 800m loop.

Yr 3 – 1000m (1 and quarter laps)

Yr 4 – 1200m (1 and half laps)

Yr 5 – 1400m (1 and three quarter laps)

Yr 6 – 1600m (2 laps)

The top 10 will be recorded - if you wish to record the rest a squad form will be provided

Each school to bring their own handsanitiser, bin bags and own toilet roll for their pupils and each school to have a member of staff to supervise their pupils when going to the toilet due to respecting the venue and keeping the toilets in good condition as we found them, otherwise we will not be able to use them. Please bring bin bags for litters and to keep the children's schools bag dry if you wish!

The competition will be held outside so please ensure your team are appropriately dressed for the weather conditions and have an appropriate drink to keep hydrated. Please keep up to date on our social media (Twitter - @EastNorfolkSSP) for any disruption due to weather. Also There is no indoor space so please bring waterproof or bin bags to put pupils bags in to keep things dry.

Risk Assessment

By booking to take part in this event you agree that you have read and understand the contents of the event risk assessment and the safeguarding and responsibilities form/ Event guide. Please note that schools are responsible for the transport, arrival and departure of their pupils. Schools should bring their own first aid kit and are responsible for the first aid of their students.

Photography/ videos

We use a variety of digital and social media to promote all our events including our SSP website and Twitter profiles. By booking onto this event, you are agreeing to our photo policy. It is the responsibility of the participating school to ensure that they have asked parents/guardian for permission for photos and videos of all participants to be taken by SSP staff or official event photographers. Please ensure you make the SSP staff aware of any children without photo/ video consent prior to the start of the event. These children will be asked to wear a yellow armband throughout the event which will indicate that no photographs/ videos should be taken of them.

Safeguarding

Schools are reminded to follow guidelines in the SSP Event Guide handbook and their schools safeguarding policy.

Spectators

Unfortunately, NO spectators are able to attend this event.
