Recruit into Coaching: What is it all about?
The recruit into coaching programme was launched by the Prime Minister in September 2007 when he announced a £5 million campaign to encourage 10,000 people in 70 of the most deprived areas in the country to become volunteer coaches over the coming 3 years. It offers a wonderful opportunity for Specialist Sports Colleges (Cliff Park High School) and School Sports Partnerships (East Norfolk) to achieve three outcomes;
The Youth Sport Trust have been working in partnership with Sport England and SportscoachUK to establish a framework for the programme which aims to both recruit more adults into volunteering, while also, supporting the transition of young leaders involved in step into sport to qualified and active coaches. The schools element of the RiC has been developed to align directly with both Step into Sport and the School Sport Coaching programme and as such the package on offer to schools includes:

The 1st & 2nd of February saw the North & South Heats of the ENSSSP School Games Sportshall Athletics events. The South event was hosted by Lynn Grove High School who were also able to provided a fantastic group of young leaders for the event.…
