Welcome to the updated East Norfolk School Sport Partnership website. The purpose of the website is to provide up to date information to school staff, parents and young people about our work within the partnership.
The School Games aims to be much more than competitive school sport - our aspiration is to support all young people to achieve their personal best in sport and in life.
The School Games is a key Government priority for realising a meaningful sporting legacy from the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. It is supported by three Government Departments - Department for Education, Department of Culture, Media and Sport, and the Department of Health - with funding from Sport England, through the National Lottery. The School Games underlines this Government's commitment to providing a new approach to competitive school sport designed to motivate and enthuse all young people.
In East Norfolk we have a structure which can build on the previous successes in 3 main ways. Firstly, the SGO role, based at Cliff Park Ormiston Academy, will provide the pathway through the 3 main levels of the School Games, from Intra Competition - Inter Competition and then onto a County Competition or Level 3 of the School Games. Secondly, by ensuring the profile of PE and School Sport is at the forefront of all we do, thus allowing the Partnership to access new funding streams to provide additional opportunities for all the children and youing people in East Norfolk and thirdly to continue to provide a high quality, additional services through the Member School initiative for all those schools who have contributed to the programme.
The School Games brings to life the sporting spirit values thus allowing schools to maximise the impact of all competition as a stimulus for personal best, raised aspirations and opportunities for those aspirations to become reality.
